How data moves

This page describes how the website works in plain language: which data leaves your browser, which services receive it, and why.

Newsletter and consent

The form sends your email address, confirmation of your consent, and an anti-spam field that is normally empty. Your email address is used only to manage your subscription and send motamos updates. An email confirmation is requested before your subscription is completed.

Brevo

The server sends your email address to Brevo, the service that stores the list, sends the confirmation request, and delivers the newsletter. Your address stays on the list until you use the unsubscribe link in the emails or request its removal.

Vercel

The website and the function that receives the form are hosted on Vercel. To deliver pages and protect the service, the infrastructure processes technical request data, including your IP address, the date and time, the requested path, browser type, and any errors. Whether logs are kept and for how long depends on the hosting configuration.

Upstash and abuse protection

To limit repeated submissions, the server uses your IP address, or an identifier derived from it, to count attempts over a short period. When the shared service is active, Upstash manages this counter; it does not receive article content or the email address entered in the form.

Fonts and tracking tools

Fonts are served directly by motamos, so your browser does not need to contact Google Fonts. The website does not set profiling cookies and does not include an analytics system to track browsing between articles.

Requests and deletion

To check a subscription, delete an address, or ask a question about how data is handled, you can write to info@motamos.com.
